About Us

Who We Are

We are a collection of five family beach homes right next to the infamous Ali Barbour’s Cave Restaurant, with gardens that run all the way to the beach and two pools, one private and one shared. We are well suited to weddings, family trips, groups of friends and solo travellers. Our restaurants are only steps away from whichever home you stay in.

Meet Our Founder

George Barbour

Flamboyant began as a family home, built by George Barbour and his family long before Diani Beach became the destination it is today. A farmer, Kenyan national rugby player, rally driver, founder of the South Coast Pirates Rugby Club and winner of the 1990 Rhino Charge, George believed that the best things in life were built with care and shared generously. The gardens have witnessed it all. They watched his children run barefoot beneath the trees, welcomed friends gathered around long tables and echoed with decades of laughter and stories. Today, those same gardens welcome guests from around the world, inviting them to become part of the next chapter. What began as George’s family home remains exactly that at heart. A home, now shared with the world.

The Beach

We’re biased, but it is a very good beach. Diani has been named one of Africa’s best beaches thirteen years running. Our gardens run all the way down to it, so you can walk from your room to the Indian Ocean or head out onto it with Kite Motion. Both our restaurants sit facing the water. Have your complimentary breakfast at The Patio, lunch with the ocean in front of you, or come to Faulty’s for dinner.
